I was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1949. At the ripe old age of 19, I enlisted in the U. S. Coast Guard, beginning a series of careers that would include administration of a substance abuse hospital, executive director of an AIDS service organization, and professor of management at the University of Alaska Southeast. I owned and operated a management consulting firm, C&S Management Associates, for twenty-five years before deciding to hang it up. My first novel, Dragon Slayers, was published in 2018. When not writing or out in the Alaska wilds with my camera, I can be found slaying dragons and generally saving the world on my human warrior, Ayndrael, in the online game, Guild Wars 2. I live with my wife, Mary, in Anchorage, Alaska.
